RMA Executives Step Up

More than 9,000 people are experiencing homelessness every night in WA.

In 2019, two of the Rental Management Australia Executive team have committed to completing the Vinnies CEO Sleepout in Perth.

For one night, RMA WA Director Paul Luzi and National Business Development Manager Sandi Regis will be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.

Each of them speaks about why this topic is close to their hearts.

“Many Australians experience events in their lives that may place them at risk of homelessness,” said Paul.

“It is estimated that around 44% of low-income households experience affordability issues due to rental stress and around 1 in 4 women have experienced some form of domestic and family violence in their lifetime.”

Sandi Regis agreed.

“This is an issue close to my heart, especially in relation to women's issues but also across our communities,” Sandi begins.

“There are a raft of issues that can lead to a person - or even a family - suddenly running out of options.  I recently attended a Shelter WA event where they spoke about the different circumstances surrounding homelessness and how landlords may be able to assist,” she said.

“Resources are very limited for dealing with the problem and I believe it is the responsibility of all of us to do what we can in our corner to create awareness and find ways to support our homeless community”.
